JCC Country Day
(6-14 Years)
Sheldon Gitelman,
MS, Director
Stacy Gentile,
Camp Administrator
JCC Country Day
offers an endless list of activities; two swims daily, tennis,
gymnastics, boating, arts and crafts, archery, basketball, dance, drama,
music, carnival day, and a great end-of-camp
trip all based
on the Jewish values and culture. Senior campers receive a special bonus
when they accompany the Super Seniors on a three-day, two-night
overnight to Lake George.
Super Seniors
(Ages 12-14)
Older campers
need to spread their wings and Super Seniors gives them the perfect
opportunity. While they enjoy all the great activities at our
campground, the real treats are the weekly outings that might include a
three-day, two-night adventure to Lake George, a day trip to Mountain
Creek, and a Yankee or Mets game. Traveling in an air-conditioned bus,
the Super Senior experience is one that tells our campers “we know
you’re growing up and you’re ready for more”.
Camp BaShemesh
(Ages 6-14 with
special needs)
Mindy Cohen,
LMSW, Director
At Camp
BaShemesh, children with mild to moderate developmental and learning
disabilities engage in an exciting summer experience with therapeutic
recreation and activities that build self-esteem and
independence, while maximizing opportunities for inclusion with typical
JCC Country Day campers. Camp BaShemesh fosters the strengths of each
child and challenges them to stretch and
grow alongside their typical
peers.

the performance, mastering vocal and acting techniques,
choreography, dialogue, creating sets and costumes for the
show. Daily rehearsals culminate in a Friday afternoon
performance for parents and friends. The week includes a
Broadway matinee performance.
Experienced staff with extensive theater
background creates a professional and fun atmosphere that
kids enjoy.
The week includes a trip to a matinee
performance of a Broadway show. An adult must accompany campers younger
